DTF, or direct-to-film, prints your design onto a special film which is then heat-pressed onto the garment. It reproduces many colours and fine details accurately.
Because it works on cotton, polyester and blends, DTF is a flexible option when a collection uses mixed fabrics.
Advantages of DTF
- Full-colour artwork with gradients
- Works on light and dark garments
- Suitable for cotton, polyester and blends
- No screens needed, so good for varied designs
Things to consider
DTF adds a thin, flexible layer on top of the fabric. On very large print areas this layer is more noticeable, so we may suggest screen printing or sublimation for big designs.

The essentials
DTF printing transfers full-colour artwork from a printed film to the garment with heat. DEAL N TRADING uses it on cotton, polyester and blends for detailed designs.
Good to know
Is DTF better than DTG?
DTF works on more fabric types and on dark garments easily. DTG feels softer on cotton because the ink goes into the fibres.
Will the DTF print crack?
Quality DTF transfers stay flexible. Washing inside out helps them last longer.
