Sublimation printing transfers ink into polyester fibres using heat. The design becomes part of the fabric, so it stays soft and will not crack or peel.
Because the whole panel can be printed, sublimation allows edge-to-edge patterns, gradients and photographic detail that other methods cannot reach.
Best suited to
- Team jerseys and match kits
- All-over printed activewear
- Cycling and running apparel
- Promotional sportswear with bold designs
What it needs
Sublimation works on white or light polyester fabrics. On cotton it does not bond, so for cotton garments we suggest DTG or DTF printing instead.

Questions buyers ask
Can sublimation be done on a black shirt?
No. Sublimation ink is transparent, so it needs a white or light polyester base. Dark designs are printed onto light fabric instead.
Is sublimation good for small orders?
Yes. There are no screens to prepare, so it suits short runs and personalised kits.
